High-energy laser promotes healing after high amputations

Small animal high amputation is the amputation of a limb in a higher position, Field Spaniel has great pain after operation. Then our non-invasive laser therapy system was used with four major functions: reducing inflammation, relieving pain, promoting healing and eliminating oedema. At the same time, laser therapy has a great effect on the healing process of the wound, and also enhances the absorption of drugs and improves blood circulation, thus accelerating the recovery process of the dog. This case demonstrates the use of our veterinary laser to promote recovery after a high amputation.

Outcome:

Short term recovery: During the eight-day hospitalisation of Cool Dog, the field dog who underwent a high level amputation due to hind limb lameness, the veterinarian used our high energy laser device to treat his post-operative wound.
After the initial high-energy laser treatment, Cool Dog demonstrated pain relief, and his activity level improved as the treatment progressed gradually. A number of follow-up checks confirmed that the wound was healing successfully as expected and that there was no infection.
Long-term follow-up: 8 days of hospitalisation and 6 days of treatment showed a good prognosis. According to the pet owner’s feedback, the cool dog is now back to health and has turned into a puppy that can walk normally.
